Also, as I started early labor with Jackson on Monday the 16th, we took the kids for a walk and the contractions were causing me to pause and we brought them home and Ryan did bedtime routine and she went and walked with me some more and then by about 10pm she says, "Lacey, just go to the hospital!" and I can see her giving Ryan the eye and I keep telling her, "Mom, I am not in labor enough yet- in another hour," or "Mom, they won't keep me," or "Let me take a shower and see if this keeps up EVERY 3 minutes like it has been." I did go to the hospital about 11pm . And of all the other moms coming in for labor- I was the only one in definite labor. My mom was right. They did keep me.
My labor was the worst of all the 4- he was the smallest too. I thought maybe they would take him c-section and kept giving Ryan "specific" things to pray about. Like say this... VERBATIM.
My progress was slow, the epidural did not take in the "pocket" around my pelvic region, and finally by about 10:30 in the morning I went from a 5 to complete within minutes. Jackson Edward (the Edward for Ryan's paternal grandpa) was born presenting face up (and my tailbone still feels it.) My mom missed the delivery by about 5 minutes- we should have called her sooner. She would have known.
This past 9 days have been with Jackson under the lights at home for jaundice, he had a work-up by a pediatric cardiologist for 2 small holes in his heart (an ASD and a VSD) which they now know to be minor, I spiked a fever on Monday, day 6, and went to the ER myself and was put on antibiotics, Tanner's still been at sports camp daily, Emma & Landon had follow-up appointments for their strep throat, my 2 boys needed haircuts- I didn't get it done in time and kicked myself, Ryan is interviewing for 2 more jobs in the next couple days (how many "gigs" does he think he needs?), we also had our 9th wedding anniversary and got away for ice cream one night. My mom has ran numerous errands, urgent and non-urgent. She's been the greatest set of extra hands and very supportive of me and especially overlooks any emotional or patientless moments that I have had. When I really think about it too much, I am not sure how in the world I will manage next week. Jackson has been the best baby though so far, and I have every right to brag. I have totally earned this one- my mom tells me he will be good. And she knows.

amen to that! moms just know. i don't know how they do it, but they always do...how come i don't feel like i know, i am a mom!? so glad your mom has been there with you. it sounds like it has been more than busy, but no worries, i know you will be great. you are an amazing mom!!
Congrats!!! I am so excited for you that he came and everything is fine. You definately have your hands full. I love his name too. Please send me any extra ones you thought of but didn't use. How funny is it that we have the same order of kids? I have to agree that moms are the best and you can't quite manage the same without them. We are lucky enough to live only about 10 miles from both sides so I know how important family is and how blessed we are to have good "grandmas"! I 've been thinking of you.

Lacey I just want to eat him up he is so precious!!! I feel for you on the sunny side up kids. Nathan gave me that joy of feeling one of *those* deliveries. :) You so deserve a good baby. I pray for this everyday for you!
Lacey- I totally cried at your video! I can't stand it that we don't live closer. I am glad Mom is there to help. I need to stop calling to "check in" as that is just something else you have to deal with! Lacey...you totally deserve a wonderful baby. Brag, Brag, Brag!!!! I love and miss you!
Hi Lacey---my name is Sheri Johnson. I met you when you lived in Grenada. I came to visit my sister Jennifer. She told me to check out your blog because she thought you did a GREAT job on it. I would have to agree with her completely. Your blog is amazing---I could learn a few things from you. I especially love this post about your mom. What a nice tribute to her. You have a beautiful family. Thanks for letting me peek at your blog. Feel free to check mine out---but no laughing at what a lame blogger I am! Thanks for being such a great friend to my sister---she talks about you all the time.
Love,
Sheri
Wow that was a tear jerker - maybe because I am excited to welcome #3 into our home. He is a beautiful baby and I think you deserve an "easy" baby too. You are amazing. Your hubby probably works a ton and yet you continue to do your thing - raising beautiful children. Good luck with everything and enjoy him.
I loved that post. Oh Lacey he is so cute. I am so glad he is a well tempered baby, even if he was hard to deliver. I have a package coming your way. Nothing is wrapped.....I had to get it in the mail so just know that it doesn't look pretty inside that box. I'm glad your mom was able to be there. Mom's truly are the best.
Lacey, your post made me cry. New babies are so precious, but it's amazing how much they can stir up a household. Your mom sounds wonderful, tell her to never go. You'll have hard days, but know that the weeks will be getting easier. Especially as you more fully recover. It's hard to see it when you're in it, but "this too shall pass.":) Again, Jackson is sooo cute. Todd even saw the pictures and was impressed to say, "man, they have such cute kids." (He usually doesn't notice.) I'm glad you got your gift, I wish I could have put a dinner inside too.
Lacey, WOW! You sure know how to pull at the heart strings. Congratulations! You do have a beautiful family. I hope Ryan can help a bit when your mom leaves. If not, let a friend help. I took about a month to adjust to my new roll and it wasn't easy. We miss you and can't wait to meet the newest Wililams.
You have all been in my thoughts and prayers- he is absolutely beautiful!! Give your mom a big kiss and hug for me- I'm glad I could give you guys a laugh!
Oh and by the way, not all moms know, just extra special ones like yours!
He's beautiful. He looks so precious and sweet. I know you love your mom so much. Her service to you and your family is really incredible! I hope you know that there's still an extra set of hands available for "urgent and non-urgent errands" only a phone call away. I hope you feel the love. You really do have such adorable children. I'm so happy for you!
What a great post !!!! The pictures of your kids meeting Jackson are so dear- I hope that he continues to be an even tempered baby- because it's you turn to have one.
Wish once again that I lived much closer :(
Grandbaby count 1 down 3 more to come!
I love the way you write things. Gosh I hope you're feeling better. That's no fun to come down with a fever, especially after child birth. Take it easy and try to get some rest. Try being the key word. Congrats!
My Goodness Lacey!! Never a dull moment. How do we ever make it through the chaos?!? We always do...moms, husbands, friends, the Lord. What would we do without them?!
I am writing this to say that he is as cute in person as in the photos (if not cuter). Also, I still wish I could have found a way for your mom to get there earlier. I always go from a 5 to 10 quickly - I should have known. He is a sweet babe and we look forward to adding him to the neighborhood gang.
congratulations! he's beautiful ofcourse. can't wait to see you in august! take care.
