This is the year:
- That I still have Christmas Presents to get in the mail. (I'm sorry dear family!)
- That someone in our house has been on antibiotics since the end of November.
- That we were blessed to have a stomach flu pause just in time for Christmas Eve.
- That being sick gave us no plans or commitments to be anywhere, but just home.
- That we had Clam Chowder and Lighted Snowballs (vanilla ice cream rolled in toasted coconut on chocolate sauce with one white lit candle on top for each person) for Christmas Eve Dinner.
- That we decided not to go to Chicago. We had a fun trip planned. But it just seemed like too much work. And we just haven't felt great. And Ryan was really fine with it. I hear him tell people it saved us money so now we can "buy our flatscreen".
- That I have to officially pack the decorations when I take them down. I can't just put them in the basement on the trees (ingenius if you ask me!). They have to be safe for a big move in a few months.
-That Santa left us Wii Rock Band and I cannot believe how much we have used it. Already. It's a hit (no pun intended).
-That Ryan did not get called in. Well, just once. But it was after the festivities. And he said if he was to get called in for Christmas Eve or Day, "That's it. I'll pay $500 bucks to whoever will take my shift." He said, I'm the only one with 4 kids and can't some of the jewish guys cover? Seems like a no-brainer :)
- Between the princess castle, doll house, baby choo-choo, lego kits, Star Wars Ship Monstrosity that was hunted for weeks and finally bought off Ebay, board games, batman caves, and geo trax sets that I have offically decided: Purging must start now. Santa was good to us. Family was good to us. It will all bring happy memories. It was a magical Christmas!

Lacey it's Dad. Just thought I'd checked to see how you're doing. Sounds like a wonderful Christmas even with the illness. You're making wonderful memories. Love Dad.
Wow,Dad beat me to the blog. I am sorry I haven't even opened a blog for a few weeks. We miss all of you so very much. I love the pile of wrapping paper on the front porch. the next garbage pickup day dad was walking up and down the street to look for any room in recycle garbage bins. He did find some room finally. My tree is still up and actually still quite fresh. Jill is coming this week and wants everything left up. I fasted and prayed for Travis Air force base.I have faith.Love MOM
I can only imagine what your front room looked like :) Mine looked like a paper tornado had hit. Sorry that you had to cancel your trip- Maybe one day when your kids are older and easier to travel with. Can't wait to see you and yours in Idaho..
Yea for Christmas, and here here for PURGING!
I ended up with a case of that stomach flu too this year.. not fun (at least it was after Christmas)...
I got Jeff Guitar Hero World tour on a whim this year (walked into Target and they had it in stock)... Turns out it was one of his fav. gifts... we used it a ton over break too.. Andrew on drums, syd on vocals and kari on bass, with Jeff on Guitar.. our own little HORRIBLE rock band-- it was pretty funny to watch...
hope you guys are all better now! see you soon.
Lacey. I am so sorry you did not make it to Chicago, but I can certainly understand. All the hassel of traveling with kids into an unfamiliar city with the really bad weather we have been having, just does not sound like fun to me. However, spending time at home with your little family sure sounds great. Have a wonderful season and if you ever get out way, please call.
Lacey--
I read your blog and I just get tired as I remember the constant exhaustion I felt with four young ones. I think you are amazing. You are the best Mom those kids could ever ask for, and I hope you remember that! I am glad you had a wonderful Christmas (in between all the sickness), and can't wait to see where you will be for Christmas next year! (Can I vote for closer to me?)
is that a sigh of relief that its over or a tear of sadness?? Bitter and sweet....its a lot of work for us mommies, huh?!!!
BTW---how are you guys doing? What are you guys doing???
The tea party thing is adorable. What a cute idea.
I love that you had your whole family home for the Holidays. What a magical Christmas for you guys, minus the flu and puking of course!
Merry Christmas Lacey and family. We've been so crazy busy that I haven't even sat down to check blogs in forever. Although we had a wonderful vacation, the travel was just too much. Really, it was beyand crazy. I feel for you on your next move. You are one strong woman though. You seem to shine through eerything.
Yeah, I saw that sight on your front porch around 9am Christmas morning when we were just waking up. You beat us to the present opening!
