silly note I wrote I want filed away for my kids to see as witness to the sleepless torment they put me through.
After my last post- my cousin Jess emailed me a sleep book. You'd think by my fifth kid I would have a clue about babies and kids and sleep. All I seemed to have a clue about was holding Charlotte to keep her asleep. That equaled not getting much done and her not sleeping very long and me losing my mind. And not being patient at all with anyone in my home. She did not have one nap in her crib before 6 months (I know! I'm crazy.) So, I devoured the book, wrote a letter to my husband and taped it to his side of the mirror and then told myself, just like the book said, I won't give my kids a diet of sugar and I shouldn't give my kids a life of exhaustion. I had a Family Home Evening on sleeping and how each of my kids was going to get more of it.
Charlotte's still up at night nursing, but she relaxes in her crib and soothes herself to sleep the majority of the time (with her binky) during the day. Major improvement.
How I kept up on so many things for so long with such inadequate sleep is surprising to me. I guess it's a testament to the enduring stamina of being a mother- a sleep clueless one at that.

I love you Lacey W. Williams! I want to come to your house and hang out with you and the kiddos
you are awesome lacey. and i love that you posted that letter. what memories for sure! it's amazing what we seem to survive as mothers. sleep deprivation is one of the hardest things to deal with! glad you are putting your foot down :) here's to more and better sleep at night! love ya!!
I dont think i could sleep through the night even given the chance at this point. :) I'm lucky that the boys all go to sleep nicely at 8. Clara on the other hand...she likes to eat far to much at night. Here's to you getting more sleep!!! I LOVED your letter.
Lacey I love your post. And I have been there! But for me no sleep equals crazy depressed mom! So I have to sleep train my babies. If you are interested in getting the baby through the night give me a call and I will tell you the two different methods that my doctor recommended and both worked. Then I will call you in the next 6 weeks and get advice on how to deal with 3 kids because I am completely clueless! Love you
