I have (let me stress this) ACCIDENTALLY been taking sleeping pills at night instead of a nasal decongestant. For like a good week. The doctor in the house told me to take the "aqua" pills from his medicine cubby. So, I did and noticed:
1. Landon would wake up and cry at night, but I was too tired/groggy to get up out of bed and get him and I clearly would tell my mind, "give him just a minute more and see if he can work it out and then go get him." BUT, my body was too tired. And he must not have cried that long because it did not bug me as much (shall I say sleeping pill hangover?).
But, last night when I was taking my "nasal decongestant" Ryan and I were talking in the kitchen and he said, "HEY! Wait a minute! WHAT have you been taking? THIS?" and he proceeded to laugh so hard at me I thought he was going to choke. He said it's the "other aqua pill, don't you read?"
So, I took the real nasal decongestant last night. I did not sleep so soundly. I woke up. Landon slept through the night. He should. He's old enough. The sleeping pills cured him (or me would you say? ).
(ps- I know, way too many posts from me as of late. This is my journal. This had to be documented as a milestone.)

I am laughing my fanny off! That is so funny! Ok Dr. Ryan why didn't it tip you off your wife was taking sleeping pills instead of decongestant...hello symptoms! Well hooray for Landon sleeping through the night!
PS- My favorite thing on your blog is "Things They Say"...begging for more!
It's about time! A few sleeping pills aren't going to hurt!
Hooray for Landon and Lacey too!
It looks like the meds REALLY did work.
That is so funny. Maybe your body needed a break and this was the best way of getting it. Just think positively like that and you won't feel so bad or stupid!
What do you mean too many posts? You could post 5 times a day and I'd still be hanging on every word.
Hey, I've been thinking about this switch the meds thing. I was wondering if Dr. Ryan could give me a pill for my headache--but it would really make you lose weight--what do you think :)
I really truly have enjoyed the frequency of your posts. :) This whole situation is HILLARIOUS! I can't stop chuckling.
This is hilarious! Don't you love those Dr. husbands? I never get enough information out of Josh. And, he's always very liberal with the dosages so we are all OD'd when we take Rx.
It was great to see you today and talk in person! You're great! And I'm glad you got a few nights of great rest -- it was worth it! For you and Landon!
Oops! Too funny! I hope you feel well rested after a few sleepy nights, but like you said, you often have to pay for the zzz's with a bit of a hangover.
Happy you got is sorted out and that Landon slept through the night again. Yeah!
I cannot stop laughing. That is the best story. Maybe you could start marketing the sleeping pills to young moms under another name as a "sure fire way to get your child to sleep through the night". You could become a millionaire--good-bye student loans . . .
That sounds like a good idea for getting the little ones to sleep through the night. I am going to try it with my next baby. P.S. Thanks for the help the other night. My boys have a mild case of it so it hasn't been too bad. The ridiculous thing is that news spread through my ward and they all freaked out. Mind you my kids hadn't been around their kids at all. Anyways Nursery was cancelled in both wards and the rumor had it that my boys were deathly ill and quarentined to our home. Rumors - or stories past over the phone always get bigger over time!!!
Man, If you are sleeping that good with sleeping pills...maybe I should try it.
I have a REALLY hard time staying asleep through the night. : /
Hmmm
I might need to try that!
Hey doc...can I get a script for some mommy medicine??!! That's awesome...that's why Gav doesn't get to manage my healthcare =)
Where can I get some of those?
