Flu, flu go AWAY

So we've had the flu again this week. Interestingly, Ryan & I were discussing when he works at the Urgent Care clinics how many people he sees who come in with the flu or cold. They seem to all want antibiotics (he hates that). In turning 99% of them down he gets strong irritated reactions. He told me he has found a way to ease the medication rejection. It goes like this:

Dr. Ryan- "I'm sorry so-and-so, you have a really bad virus. You need plenty of rest. You need to go home and tell your spouse-mother-sister-kids-whomever to take really good care of you while you recover."

So, my sick children have been taken really good care of throughout the rounds of flu. I know, because it's been by me. And then I began to suffer with the "stomach rejection" issues myself and ironically Ryan was home and he nicely yells to me, "Hey, you okay?" as I am standing over the toilet. Uhm, not so much. And I HATE being pregnant and being sick. It multiplies everything I think.

Yes, Emma sings to me twinkle, twinkle little star as I am in the bathroom and tells me I need to "go to the doctor". And I have found myself looking over at the guy snoring next to me in bed whose always ready to jump up at the crack of dawn and "go heal the masses" and offer lots of good advice. Yet, I think the "plenty of rest and have someone take care of you- Doctor's orders" has not resignated so well in my house. Just tell me, whose house does it work in? Can I come over? One final thought: Do I need a new doctor? (I'm smiling Ryan.)

You can come over Lacey...I'll take care of you.

I have the same sentiments - when Momma is sick life just goes on regardless...sigh.

i am sad to say that things don't work any better in our house... jeff is a wimp when he is sick and has to be taken care of, but when i am sick he just ignores me.
hang in there... if you need antyhing call, i am home with no kids most days and can help out!

In my own defense I did hand Lacey a Phenergan (an anti-vomit pill) and told her "Take this, quick, before you throw-up again!" and THEN I went to bed. I was tired after taking care of strangers all day long.

Boston is still down for the count and tonight Trevor says his stomach hurts. I am soooo sorry that you have it too. Im hoping I don't get it. Why didn't I know you had it? I live across the street. Your phone hasn't been working and I did see the Bell South guy out there Friday. I should have called to check. I'll be checking on you.
