Tap, Tap, Tap...

Do your feet look like boy feet or girl feet? We had our ultrasound today.

The heart and brain and size were all perfect. We saw some GREAT profiles of this babies little face. We watched arms and legs move and I realized:

First, I love this little baby very much. Not that I did not want this baby. I always have. I just have felt preoccupied with the other kids (mainly that I have 2 in diapers still) to spend too much time thinking about this one.

Second, for the first time in any of my pregnancy's I have no "wanting" of a certain gender. I am genuine and truthful.

That said, we do not know what it is! The Technician did not show us and Ryan could not tell and I really could not tell. BUT, the Technician could for certain. And so, I have a sealed "Surprise" envelope that will hang on my bulletin board- NOT wanting to be opened until delivery day.

(At this point I have partial placenta previa and so have to have another ultrasound in 8 more weeks. )

Yes!! We need to know what color clothes to send to that new baby!

Does that mean another C-section?

Cutest feet I've ever seen. I loved that you choose not to find out. It will be a wonderful surprise for all. You kids will love getting the call and finding out if it's a boy or girl on its birth day!

Aww that's exciting Lacey! I hope you're able to take it really easy. I know when you lived in Bakersfield your house was always spotless and you were always out giving service to someone!

I can't believe anyone is brave enough to do this. It's as brave as like climbing Mt. Everest or jumping out of an airplane. Yes, to not know the sex of the baby before hand takes guts and for this, I applaud you. Of course, it does sound pretty fun too!

You guys seriously kill me with this. Just go ahead and send me the envelope so the suspense will end for me. I promise, I won't tell anyone.

Wow, I wish I had the pacience of you...to wait and find out when he or she arrives. I think for me it would actually be more of a touching experience to wait. Lacey, I too have 2 in diapers. (This is getting expensive) Seth is on the smaller side and so he and Abigail wear the same size. Abigail is not petite! I wish you continued health for you and the baby! I miss you.

We did not find out the sex of our first four children, and although it was one of the hardest things I have ever done, there is nothing so amazing as having that baby come out and the doctor (or Steve) shouting "it's a ______". It is well worth the wait. (and I have done it both ways--we found out early on Capri because we weren't sure if she would even make it, and on Jericho so I would have something fun to look forward to, since I was petrified of ultrasounds at that point!)

I guess you know back in the day we never knew what gender of baby we were having. There is something to be said for the surprise--however I don't know if I would chose not to know. Babies boy or girl are such blessings anyway. I love them. :)

Everyone needs a little surprise. Not knowing is OK. I had 6 of them that way. Never could plan :( But being healthy is most important. Be careful with yourself and follow doctors orders regarding the P.P. Been there done that and not fun.

I'm so glad that you have a healthy baby. I loved the ultrasounds just for that reason. I always thought, "I have two (or three) healthy babies. . .this one MUST have something wrong." I always think I have to prepare for the worst--it drives Rusty nuts. I had placenta previa with three of my pregnancies (not Meg--ha, ha). It's kind of nice to get an extra ultra sound during your pregnancy. Congratulations!!!
