Can someone tell me it's still okay to not have my momentum back yet- and the baby is six months old. Shouldn't I be back to things yet? Five has kicked my junk.
I told Ryan I missed my blogging. But I hate to openly admit in black and white that life is monotonous and routine and food and snacks and cleaning and diapers and running kids around. All with the baby mostly crying. (She cries a lot. She wants my full attention all the time at home.)
So I'm just going to admit it and then move on. I'm struggling to have everyone dressed by 10 am. That I am getting less adequate sleep than ever before- mostly because of the baby and her nursing and awful sleeping habits (and slim napping skills) and partly because I need to catch up on housework or need to get to the gym.
The stake called me to co-chair our Stakes Creche for next year. Somewhat ironic because the things I love doing like holidays and celebrating have not been done so well by me over the past few months.
I miss my friends. I cried at the Christmas cards I got. I love my family. Your cards were all beautiful.
Our trampoline blew away and got bent to pieces on Christmas Eve. I cut my finger open and needed stitches the day after Christmas. We got a sweet kitty that drives me a bit nuts but I think it was because I wasn't feeding him enough. Jackson is stuttering now. Oh, and I've lost some weight and the oil change lady couldn't recognize me from 4ish months earlier. That means I was really fat. I should have felt complimented. I didn't. That meant I was really fat.
Okay. I think I let it all out.
I know my lost momentum is waiting to be found. I'm almost there.

Lacey, I am feeling your pain. My baby is 8 months old and I cannot drag myself out of bed and I don't feel motivated to do most things that I need to or should be doing. On Friday I knew I had to do something- so I turned on General Conference while I scrubbed down my kitchen cupboards at it helped a lot, at least for that day :) I miss you so much. We need to see you guys soon!!
Hey! When you find your Momentum maybe mine will be there with it!
PS You look soooo goood! I kinda hate being around you cause it makes me look soo fat!!!

I felt the EXACT same way after Halle was born. Everyday felt overwhelming to me for a long time...like 9 months long time. I literally just took it a day at a time, and even then not much got done. It got better as Halle got a little more independent. You're not in it alone. I also learned that it's okay to recruit help.
you look beautiful lacey! 5 kicked my butt too. no worries you will find your "new normal" sooner rather than later :) it's like I tell people how i survived the twins...NO expectations. seriously. i am not joking and it worked too. you feel less guilt for not getting everything done you think you should have gotten done. your family is darling and we need to chat soon. do i even have your phone #? i will email you for it. miss you tons lace! xoxo
I'm sorry you're having a rough time, Lacey. For what it's worth, I've always admired you for so many reasons. You really are a very talented and amazing woman. Hang on, things will get better! Love ya!
OK FAVORITE FRIEND - let's plan that getaway and soon!
I love you to pieces and think of you daily!
I want in on that get-a-way! Jack stuttered from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2. He's over it now. I worried when I should have enjoyed it's charm.
Lacey-I still don't know how you do it! I only have three kids but, Jacob is finally sleeping through the night and I feel so much better! What is your email? I want to email the sleep training book I used.
Beautiful Lacey. I can so relate to everything you said. Everything. It's occupational hazzard, me thinks. Evan is 19 months old and I still feel overwhelmed by him a lot...he follows me around the house screaming at me most of the time. He demands my ALL. Your feelings are totally validated. But I just might add...momentum or not...junk together or not...you're still one of the most amazing hearts I've ever known. So there.
All I can say is that seeing that you do have, in fact, a picture with your whole family in it, is more momentum than I have been able to muster in YEARS. And thus, I think you are AWESOME!!! (As well as a very fine looking momma--even if I DID get all my family together for a picture, I would not look nearly as put together in said picture!:)
If it makes you feel any better, there is a reason you haven't seen any current pictures of me. I am really really fat. And I don't lose it fast either. Give me a good year after this one.
I love this post. Really blogging is getting harder and harder. I have to make time for it...my Mom keeps reminding how behind I always am. You look great!!! You always do though. My momentum is lost too...I'm at 4 mos. so I guess I still have a while right haha!!
My neighbor says it take a year. One solid year to get back to normal after a baby. So darn it, I'm taking the whole 12 months!!!
(3 more months before my house should start being cleanish again!)
Also, I think we should be exchanging Christmas cards!
:)

Lacey, I think your 5th child gives you permission to take at least 3 years to get back into your swing. I'm sure you're doing better than you think. Post holiday is a tough time for sure though.
